Today we start our twelve days of sharing! 🎄Share and interact with each post over the next twelve days to get entered to win a two night stay here with us at The Dorset Inn, along with a few other small prizes! 🎁

On the first day of sharing The Dorset Inn shared with me historic fun facts:

· Our beautiful spiral staircase came from the Coburn House (1872-1984), which is now known as in Manchester Center. In July of 1958 Louis Armstrong stayed at this hotel, which means he may have walked this staircase too!

· Rumor has it that our building may be haunted, specifically the top floors. From our knowledge and experience, our spirits are friendly and not seen often.

· Both of our chefs have been with us for over 10 years. We are lucky to have them not only for their delicious dishes, but for their dedication, hard work, awesome dad jokes, and their passion for The Dorset Inn.

· Today we have 24 rooms, and we can accommodate for about 65 guests comfortably. But, in 1796 when doors first opened, the building could accommodate less than 30 guests.

· The Dorset Inn is Vermont’s oldest continuously operated Inn. When doors opened, they never closed, just sold ownership!

· The design of the building was originally built to mimic the columns of George Washington’s home.
