If you're stocking roofing for sheds, barns and outbuildings, here's something worth knowing: we're the largest B-Grade shingle supplier in the country.

B-Grade means a cosmetic issue, not a structural one, and it comes without a manufacturer warranty. That's the tradeoff, but it means lower cost for retailers stocking B-Grade inventory.

💡 One hack worth knowing: the synthetic felt we carry for roofing also works as flooring underlayment. A crossover use a lot of buyers aren't aware of.

Scenario: You've got a truckload on the way and a business that depends on it showing up on time. Once that order ships, you shouldn't have to play telephone between three separate companies just to find out where it is.

That's what happens with a broker in the middle: they point to the carrier, the carrier points back, and you're stuck chasing an answer.

We intentionally built our own in-house Silvaris Complete Logistics team from the ground up to fix that, because a seamless customer experience is something we stake our entire company on.

One person on our team owns your load from pickup to delivery. We choose between truckload, intermodal and rail, based on what the best option is, and if something changes along the way (which does happen occasionally), you'll hear it directly from us, not secondhand, and we'll fix it.

We supply B-Grade and surplus building materials at volume, and here's a problem worth naming: most suppliers hand your delivery off to a broker once the sale closes. If something goes wrong, the supplier points to the broker, the broker points to the carrier, and you're the one stuck chasing an answer between three companies that all have slightly different incentives.

Here's how we solved it:

We built our own in-house Silvaris Complete Logistics team specifically to remove that chain entirely: no broker, no hand-off, one team accountable for your order start to finish, across North America. More on exactly how that works tomorrow. 🗓️

A lot of people don't know why we can sell surplus siding at volume.

It's not luck, and it's not warehouse space. We work through an exclusive downfall contract with major siding manufacturers, which means a steady, ongoing flow of material, not a one-time closeout we're hoping happens again.

That's what makes volume buying possible in the first place. Order enough siding for a whole project in one semi-truckload order, and it all comes from the same batch. No piecing together whatever's left on a shelf across multiple smaller purchases.

Skip that, and you get different runs, batches and sometimes a slightly different shade of the same color. It's unique in our industry and it's why we have a lot of customers coming back for more.

Nobody's judging a barn wall on its curb appeal, especially with storm season bearing down and a shed that still needs finishing before the weather turns.

We supply B-Grade and surplus siding built for exactly those kinds of projects: barns, equipment sheds, farm storage, structures meant to hold up to weather, time and seasonal changes. Not to impress the neighbors.

The flaws that knock a panel down a grade: a color variance, a small ding, a discontinued style, are cosmetic.

We work across five main materials, OSB, Vinyl, Wood, Fiber Cement and Composite, each suited to a different job. And because we source through an exclusive downfall contract with major siding manufacturers, our customers get a consistent flow of B-Grade siding.

We supply B-Grade and surplus siding across North America at volume, and not just one type.

Here are five groups of materials we work with most often. Each one gets graded its own way, and knowing what's what matters. Especially now that the weather's about to turn and timing's about to get tighter. ☁️

— OSB
— Vinyl
— Wood
— Fiber Cement
— Composite

Most buyers default to whatever they've always used, which is worth reconsidering, since the right material for one project isn't always the right one for the next.

These five are what we highlight most often. If you need something outside this list, ask: our range runs beyond what's featured here.

A truckload of B-Grade material priced right and available now won't wait around for financing to catch up.

Our new blog post looks at why credit terms matter as much as sourcing when you're buying at volume, and why getting them in place if you qualify shouldn't take years as a new customer.

Read the post: "Why Payment Terms Matter When You're Sourcing at Volume"

Learn how credit terms help buyers act on building materials, secure volume inventory, and avoid missing good loads due to financing delays.

On today’s episode of “What did the Silvaris customer actually use a full semi-truckload of fence pickets for?!” (jk that may be the world’s most dull Netflix US show of all time… or would it?! 😂).

This customer needed structurally sound material for in-store display risers but didn’t want to blow the budget on it.

A win-win for a supplier looking to move a full semi-load of redwood pickets, and a specialty retail chain who landed exactly the material they needed. 🤝

Credit shouldn't be one-size-fits-all.

Most credit approval processes run on a formula: hit the right numbers, get the same answer as everyone else. Our team works differently.

Every business is different, and every credit situation is too. Our credit team takes the time to understand what a business needs, then builds a solution around it instead of forcing it into a standard approval box.

They get to know the accounts they handle, and find a path forward that makes sense for both sides.

If credit or payment terms have ever felt like an obstacle with another supplier, it's worth a conversation. There may be more room to grow than you think.
