Tis the season of, can you squeeze in a few more repairs before the end of the year?
Late this summer, early fall I was down below 10 pumps to repair for the first time in 8 years. I had hustled and finally gotten ahead and thought to myself "I might be able to get a few home/shop repairs completed this season. Well, it didn't last long....
Here are a few winter tips;
1. It doesn't matter if you have liquid in your pump that won't freeze, if you have an electronic pressure control your sensor needs to be kept above 40°. Pump saver, RV antifreeze, paint thinner etc. they will keep your pump from developing corrosion or rust, but you must keep your sensor warm.
2. Now is a great time to get your maintenance caught up, stock up on tips and filters, and get your equipment into storage mode. Top off your fluids, add stabilizer to your fuel, and fog your carburetor.
3. If you are worried about getting invoices for work/repairs on your equipment before the end of the year.... Have your shop write you up a deposit towards your repairs and pay the bill. You can square up after the beginning of the new year.
4. Now is a great time to check in with your coatings rep to see what new products are on the shelf and try them out in your shop before the spring.
Have a great December and a Merry Christmas!
