Before diving into making an expensive final product, its usually wise to start by creating a minimum viable prototype to test on potential buyers so you can get feedback and understand exactly which features your product should/shouldn't have. Then you're ready to invest in the final design and order a sample batch to try selling.
I offer a product development service where I take a concept and build a prototype so you can have a physical representation of your idea when seeking investors, feedback from potential buyers, licensors, etc.

I'm getting my first few jobs and decided to share the process I take people through if anyone was curious. If you have an idea for a new product but don't quite know how to go about building it, I help by taking some or all of the following steps:
1. Define the problem you're trying to solve
2. Come up with the best concept to solve that problem
3. Model the product in CAD
4. Build a prototype
5. Test the prototype
6. Refine the design to a product you can test on the market
7. Help you order a test batch to test on the market
