A lot of customers have been asking us lately about our thoughts on FERA Diagnostics and Biologicals, Corp.'s product, FerAppease and what exactly does it do?
FerAppease is a topical product used to reduce stress, fear, and threat perception in cattle and swine during routine management and physiological events.
How It Works
Active Ingredient: It contains a synthetic replica of the Maternal Bovine Appeasing Substance (MBAS), a natural pheromone that lactating cows secrete to comfort nursing calves.
Application: Handlers apply the liquid topically to specific areas on the animal's head, typically right above the muzzle and behind the poll or horns.
Brain Response: The scent is absorbed through the nose, which calms the brain's amygdala and hypothalamus to lower stress hormones like cortisol.
