Humble and heartfelt thanks to all of the congratulations offered to us regarding the award with which we were presented.
It’s not really about me, it’s about us.
Specifically:
About my parents, Dick and Dotty, who trusted an average student with their hard-earned operation. Had to scare the heck out of them when I came back home to work as an immature middle of the road kid.
About my family who weren’t employed at Davis Products, but who supported us tirelessly so we could put in the effort necessary to make it all work.
About our employees, who over the years kept the business going regardless of the obstacles that appeared.
About our customers, who gave us the opportunity to earn their business and trust.
About the communities we serve and their willingness to support a local business, or at
least give us a chance.
We may have won the longevity award, but the real prize is in place as our son Christopher, along with girlfriend Victoria, have recently taken the reins going forward. This is the 3rd generation now in place. I have great confidence in these youngsters and the future of Davis Products.
And don’t forget Leah Long and NFIB who do what they can to make Louisiana competitive, which is no easy feat.
Lastly and most important are my wife Melissa and sister Judy who run the office and have a harder job than mine. They both work tirelessly and do whatever it takes to get the job done and keep me straight early and often on a daily basis.
With respect and appreciation,
Charley Weintritt
To piggyback on my father’s thoughts, we greatly appreciate the acknowledgement shown over the last week, but we know it has been the support over the years that has kept us going.
It has been a transformative experience, to say the least, attempting to learn everything since I have come back home. I look forward to continuing the legacy set before me.
Last, to give credit where it is due, and because he won’t congratulate himself.
It has been the honor and privilege of my life to watch you run Davis Products in such an admirable way. There can be no true repayment for that experience. You may be eyeing retirement, but don’t expect to be let off the hook too soon- I still have a million questions left in me.
Thanks dad.
Sincerely,
Christopher Weintritt, President
