SHOP PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing daily work direction to manufacturing employees, maintaining safety, quality and delivery. The Production Supervisor is also expected to be an active manufacturing employee who will produce equipment. This role reports directly to the Production Manager. The candidate should have a background in engineering as well as machine assembling.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversight and management of manufacturing employees
Plans, assigns, prioritize and evaluates the workflow to ensure on-time delivery
Responsible for quality of work, productivity and Employee safety
Cross train Hourly Employees to continually meet the needs of the business
Coordinate and lead projects across cross functional groups to mitigate bottlenecks and improve throughput
Ability to trouble shoot as well as inspect products using a variety of electrical and mechanical test and measurement equipment.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned to support overall shop function
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Other duties as assigned by Management
REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM of 5 years of experience in Production Environment
MINUMUM of 3 years of experience in Production Supervision

· Knowledge of BOM, routing on standard times as well as knowledge of manufacturing ERP software

Experience in both Mechanical & Electrical machine assembly
Proven analytical and organizational ability

PREFERENCES:

Associates degree in Engineering or Technology

The Mechanical Assembler will work on our machine assembly line. In this position, you will work closely with other assemblers to connect components and construct our mechanical products. You must be able to read blueprints, know how to use a variety of hand and power tools, and able to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Read the schematics for your machine component
Ability to interpret electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings and sketches;
Assembling component
Work with other assemblers to create a final product
Test and inspect components for uniformity and quality
Log your productivity
Knowledge of PLCs, Servo Motor Drives, switches, sensors, relays, motor starters and other industrial devices used in machine control;
Requirements

Mechanical skills and experience with hand tools and portable power tools;
Electrical skills and background a plus
Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment preferred;
Understanding of the metal forming and wire forming industries preferred;
Experience with material handling equipment is a plus;
Minimum of 3 years’ experience;
High school diploma or GED required
Trade school or certificate in electronics, engineering, manufacturing technology or a related area is a plus.

Inspect for adherence to shop standards for preparation
Prepare surfaces for painting and/or coating
Mixing paint to manufacturing requirements
Remove imperfections from new paint
Inspect thickness of coated parts
Follow all principles and practices of paint applications
Visually inspect parts for cleanliness before and after painting process to ensure compliance to customer order
Proper use and care of all tools, racks, fixtures, equipment and materials utilized in processing
Skills:
Skill in making and regulating hand spray guns
Knowledge of paint equipment and proper cleaning techniques
Be able to sand, tape, prime, buff, mask and polish
Work experience in a production / manufacturing and/or plant environment
Background in industrial painting working in industrial paint booths
Ability to work under minimal direction
Excellent work ethic and superior attendance
Work extended hours and/or weekends when required

• Ability to build custom wood crates for various size/weight machinery
• Must be able to drive a forklift and lift truck
• Able to lift 75 lbs.
• Experience with the use of overhead cranes is preferred
• Perform daily, inventory cycle counts
• Pull parts from inventory for assembly jobs
• Any other activities required to support the department

Qualifications:

• High School graduate
• Experience with hand tools (Nail Gun, Drill,Chop Saw), table saw and panel saw
• Woodworking or framing experience preferred
• Shipping experience in a manufacturing environment
• Detail oriented
• Takes initiative and is reliable

As the Shipper/Crater, you will be responsible for Crating and packaging products for shipments to our Customers, and meticulously checking that all parts to be shipped are accounted for and insuring quality control in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, productivity and accuracy.

Summary:

Electrical Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of control system design for the operation and functionality of industrial press feeding equipment. This position includes control system design, control software programming, documentation and development.

Responsibilities:

• Control system design for new product development of industrial equipment.
• Creation and modification of PLC programming, using ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
• Graphical user interface design, programming and implementation.
• Software debugging of prototype and production units.
• Creation of drawings using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor.
• Creation of BOM’s using INFOR business system.
• Assist with creation of instruction and operating manuals.
• Trouble shooting of assembly floor and customer start-up problems.

Knowledge/Skills:

• 5+ years of experience working with electrical engineering and controls.
• Knowledge of NEC, UL, CSA, & CE standards.
• Proficiency with AB Compact Logix Controllers (with motion control), Studio 5000, RS Logix 500, Factory Talk View Studio.
• Familiar with AC variable frequency drives (Up to 15Hp) and fractional HP DC drives.
• Familiar with 120V single phase motors and 230/460V three phase motors.
• Familiar with safety relays, E-stops and sensors (Limit, Proximity, IR, Laser).
• Ethernet, Modbus, RS485 communication.
• Other PLC’s used: Koyo, Klick, Panasonic
• 24VDC Control Circuits
