CANCELED --- Blackwater Community Fireworks --- CANCELED

After sending out the request for money yesterday morning for the Blackwater Community Fireworks, EMA sent out information that the Cooper Commission has declared a State of Emergency due to the Extreme Drought. They also strongly discourage aerial fireworks. They have not issued a burn ban but they may issue a red flag warning.

We have continued to monitor the weather conditions and have strong hopes/prayers that it will rain however we understand that we can not count on what the weatherman predicts.

With that being said, we currently feel that it is in the best interest and safety of our community to cancel the fireworks display this year. If you donated and would like your money returned, please contact Amanda Blank and we will return your donation. Any donations that are not returned will remain in the account until next year.

We apologize for this, however, safety is our number one factor. As always, thank you for supporting us each year and we look forward to next year's show!

Blackwater Community Fireworks...

Checking in on fireworks. As it stand this morning there is about $125.00 in the account. We normally spend about $2000.00. This year we have the opportunity to buy through Spirit 76 at a discounted rate and pick up at the warehouse however we would need to purchase by Thursday to have order ready. Still looking at the 3rd at dusk to shoot off.

Donations can be made directly at Citizens Community Bank under Blackwater Community Fireworks Account.

Some have asked why the ball association is not having the concession stand this track meet. We decided to allow PTO to have the stand so they can raise more money for the school playground.

In addition with not having summer ball teams (which we HOPE next year we will have some) that having the stand open for one event is difficult. We normally end up with extra product that we have to take back or sell. If we knew 100% we would be able to have some tournaments this year then we would have kept it.

With that being said.. we are on the right path for the light project to be finished this summer. We have a couple that have said they had equipment and could help install the poles and a lift that can get us up to the height we need. That has been our biggest challenge.

So please come support our Blackwater PTO concession stand this year! The money raised is still going to our youth and our community, which is what both of our organizations stands for!! Making our community better!!!

Thank you Early Richards for coming to till the field. I know we don't have teams this year however we have the track meet and tons if kids playing at the park again. We HOPE to finish lights and maybe have a tournament or two this year.

Exciting things are happening. A HUGE shout out to Jason Comegys and his team from boonville coming to Blackwater to help work up the field and clean. Jason is now joined the ball association and already suggested on having tournaments. He will be a huge asset to the association and great things will happen. Unfortunately when covid hit we kinda stalled out. Here is to a bright future!!

Calling ALL 8 to 10 year old boys. We have had interest in having a team put together to play in Marshall. If you are interested please let me know ASAP.

Also, any other ages interested in playing????? We would love to get our summer ball up and going again.

We hope to get moving on the new lights as soon as the weather starts to change.

This is why we do what we do and want to keep this small town park alive. Great turn out at the 2021 Blackwater track meet!

Due to lack of registrations we will not have youth summer ball. We did not recieve enough to try to field any age.

With that being said... we will still finish lights. We will try to have some co-ed adult games. Checking into some other options to at least bring in enough money to keep the park mowed and clean so families can still use it.

We are open to suggestions..

To answer some questions...

Practices will be in Blackwater. We are a Blackwater team.

With Blackwater playing with Marshall we have have to follow marshall Park and rec rules. The league we played in before has disbanded so marshall was the closest opportunity that allowed us to play at home. Home games is how we generate revenue to keep the park maintained.
