We had the pleasure of helping our dear friends at the Reading Phillies.

Phase 1 consisted of installing a new 40lb UniMac washer with a matching 55lb dryer in their newly built, state of the art facility you can find out in centerfield. We also moved a 60lb washer and 75lb dryer that was in their old wash house into their new Home side wash house.

Phase 2 will come at the end of the season where we will move the visitor teams equipment into the new facility where both teams will be able to enjoy the amenities of the new facility.

Had the pleasure of installing this UniMac 202 washer/extractor at Middletown location. Last week we had the pleasure of installing some new Alliance Laundry Systems LLC equipment for our friends at the Double Tree By Hilton Newark Airport. Those old Milnors were obsolete, heavy paper weights and an absolute eye sore for the laundry room. We were able to fit 3 UniMac soft mount washers where they had just 2 washers before. The new touch screen dryers are a nice touch to any laundry room and the housekeeping team absolutely loves them. They will see not only an increase in linen results but a decrease in utility costs. We can not stress enough how important it is for your dryers to be maintained. A new customer called us asking for us to come out and take a look at a dryer as their staff was noticing a “burning smell” while operating their dryers. When we arrived we immediately got to work on some Preventative Maintenance on their dryers. As you can see, this thing was a ticking time bomb!

Preventative Maintenance is great for reducing fire hazards, increasing efficiency/performance and helps prevent down time by spotting faulty parts before they actually fail.

We had a customer call in saying that their washer was making a loud banging noise during the cycle. After a quick conversation we were able to diagnose over the phone that their Continental Washer soft mount needed some new shocks. We placed the order and had the equipment up and running in no time. You can see just how bad these shocks were in the picture.

Customer called me up saying their dryer was smoking and that their other service tech wasn’t answering his phone calls. Not only do we pick up the phone, we execute on service. The other guy failed to secure the ignition box. Just hooked it up and threw it in the dryer all w***y nilly.

The ignition box was resting up against the exhaust duct and caused it to burn and catch some lint in the back on fire. We came in and not only hooked up the ignition box, we secured properly and vacuumed out all the lint behind the dryer.

Every once and a while we get some crazy things come through. This one is probably the craziest thus far.

This amazing customer of ours in the City of Brotherly Love had reached out saying they needed a dryer replaced through insurance. Why you may ask? Well, apparently there was a shooting INSIDE OF HER LAUNDROMAT 😱

We told her not to worry, we had her back! We installed this brand new Huebsch stack dryer, replacing an old Wascomat machine. We forgot to get before pictures, but go ahead and swipe to see where the bullet went through the drum and door frame.

Things that make you go 🤦🏻‍♂️ for $300, Trebek!

What you’re looking at is a drain trough screen. These allow laundromat owners to catch all the debris that would normally flow down their drains which could potentially cause a clog. These screens are removable for easy cleaning.

Unfortunately, who ever built this laundromat plumbed right over the removable screen. Not allowing it to be removed. They should have plumbed down along side of the trough, then over into the trough allowing the screen to be removed.

Once we get the green light from the customer we’ll be back to update the plumbing to allow that screen to be removed.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all!

Customer called in saying they were having card reader issues on multiple dryers. After asking some questions to help figure out what was going on ahead of time I find out that this lovely lady was frustrated with their current service provider.

I get on site and start checking out their card readers. Sure enough the first thing I saw, that I expected, was that the readers needed to be cleared of lint and contractors clean. But that’s not all I noticed

Stick with us, this is where it gets fun!

Upon removal of card reader we noticed some tape that didn’t belong as well as an object (hose washer) under said tape. The old service tech tried to put pressure on bottom plate creating a better contact between the card reader and the card 🤦🏻‍♂️ they did this on several readers.

Here at XSV, we prefer to do things the right way. The way that yields results keeping our customers happy. We removed this nonsense, cleared out all the lint and cleaned contactors. All card readers are now in PROPER working condition.
