MJ’s very own Brady Brewster had the honor of launching the inaugural Breeze Airways flight from Brownsville, Texas, to Orlando, Florida, and we couldn’t be more excited to support this new connection for our client, Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport. We look forward to continuing to support the growth of the Rio Grande Valley through expanded travel opportunities, meaningful partnerships, and deeper community engagement.

Proud moments like these are what drive us forward! We're excited to share that the General John Stark Memorial Bridge project, led by the NH Department of Transportation, has been honored with our second Gold Award at the ACEC-NH Engineering Excellence Awards. 🥇

This landmark project replaced two aging and functionally obsolete Connecticut River crossings with a single, modern bridge—now the third-longest in New Hampshire—that improves safety, mobility, and regional connectivity for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, while strengthening economic and community ties between New Hampshire and Vermont.

MJ was proud to serve as a trusted partner to New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), providing independent structural analysis of the superstructure, along with environmental and construction services support. We're proud to support infrastructure solutions that connect and inspire.

to 1974, when MJ began a new chapter in Binghamton’s history by purchasing the landmark building at 171 Front Street—a historic home once owned by Charles S. Hall. Built in 1854 for Hall, a prominent lawyer and U.S. Commissioner who helped draft Binghamton’s first city charter, this remarkable structure reflects the city’s rich history and exemplifies the elegant Tuscan Villa architectural style.

Upon acquiring the property, McFarland Johnson Engineers recognized its historical significance and took great care to preserve its most notable features. The tile and marble trimmed fireplaces, the oak paneled library, and many original design elements were maintained, ensuring the building’s character remained intact for future generations. MJ’s commitment to preservation was acknowledged by the local community in 1979, when the building was spotlighted in the newspaper as the host site for a Binghamton Symphony Musicale—an occasion that highlighted MJ’s commitment to the local community. Although MJ is no longer located here, we’re proud to have been part of this building’s story.

We’re growing in Central New York! 🎉 McFarland Johnson officially celebrated the opening of our new Syracuse, NY office with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event, marking an exciting new chapter for our team and our continued investment in the region.

Led by David Smith and Jason Kantak, the Syracuse team will provide multidisciplinary services including highways, bridges, multimodal infrastructure, civil and site development, facilities, aviation, planning, environmental, and construction phase services.

This expansion reflects MJ’s continued commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions that support growth and long-term progress across Central New York.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Wi******er Street Corridor project in Keene, NH, led by McFarland Johnson, has been awarded GOLD at the ACEC-NH Engineering Excellence Awards! 🏆

This recognition celebrates our team’s commitment to partnering with our clients to develop an innovative, sustainable, and community-focused design that transformed Wi******er Street into a safer, greener, and more connected corridor for everyone. The project exemplifies the benefits of a robust public outreach campaign that resulted in innovative transportation design and sustainability, with improvements such as new roundabouts, enhanced sidewalks and bike lanes, improved stormwater management, reconstructed bridge over the Ashuelot River, and sustainable landscaping, all in alignment with the City’s Complete Streets policy. This project is already improving safety and connectivity for residents, students, and local businesses. Congratulations to the City of Keene, our project partners, and all who contributed to this achievement!

We’re excited to welcome Charles Moseley to the MJ team as our new National Program Management Lead for MJ’s Aviation Division! In this role, Charles will oversee the strategic planning, ex*****on, and delivery of major aviation capital improvement programs and complex aviation systems, while ensuring alignment with client objectives for on-time and on-budget delivery. With over 30 years of business experience and more than 20 years in program management, Charles brings a distinguished record overseeing critical infrastructure projects and programs throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Charles is a seasoned executive, known for leading major capital improvement programs and for building and scaling program management platforms in North America and the Middle East. His expertise spans airport and public infrastructure, enterprise project controls, program governance, and the integration of multidisciplinary teams.

As a proven practice builder and servant leader, Charles has driven transformative outcomes for public sector clients across aviation, water, and transportation, guiding projects and programs from conceptual development through completion with a collaborative and innovative approach.

We’re proud to recognize Tony Volpe, a Construction Inspector in MJ’s Aviation Division, who was honored last night at the DuBois City Council Meeting. Tony and his supervisor, Dustin Camise, have served as firefighters for the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Just last Tuesday, Tony’s courageous and swift actions rescued a kayaker who had fallen into the frigid waters of Treasure Lake—directly saving a life and exemplifying MJ’s core value of “Community.”

Tony’s quick thinking, composure under pressure, and selflessness reflect his admirable character both on and off the job. In recognition of his bravery and the outstanding efforts of the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department, MJ is making a donation in Tony’s name to support their continued service in the DuBois community.
