At Varner’s Outdoor Power Equipment, we believe in being transparent with our customers. We’ve recently had several questions regarding the ambulance service fee that may appear on invoices, and we’d like to provide some clarification.

This fee is not retained or profited from by Varner’s Outdoor Power Equipment. It is a county-required fee that businesses are mandated to collect and remit in accordance with local regulations. These funds help support the emergency ambulance and EMS services that provide critical care and emergency response throughout our community.

The ambulance service fee is currently 0.4% of the invoice total.

Here are a few examples:

• $100 purchase = $0.40 ambulance fee
• $500 purchase = $2.00 ambulance fee
• $1,000 purchase = $4.00 ambulance fee

We understand that additional fees can be frustrating, and we want our customers to know that this is not a fee created by our business. We are simply complying with county requirements and passing the funds along as required.
