The annual Bowe Machine Company 8-Ball Tournament was held at Leisure Time on Saturday, March 16th. There was more than a little "trash-talking" as employees munched on pizza and competed in the double-elimination tournament.
Jason Ceurvorst claimed first place, with Don Dupont and Ted Lyons coming in at 2nd and 3rd.

This was our 4th year for the event. We only had 3 pumpkins this year, but what we lacked in quantity, we made up in quality and creativity! Employees came up during lunch to vote for their favorite pumpkin and enjoy some Halloween snacks.

The annual company golf outing was held on August 25, 2018, one of the hottest days of the summer. Many cold beverages were consumed! For several of these employees, it's the only time they golf each year. Afterward golfers enjoyed a buffet-style meal, and prizes were awarded.

We had a great turnout this year for the annual Bowe Machine Company Chili Cook-Off. Thirteen employees each made up their own special batch, and then everyone sampled them, voting for their favorite. Rounding out the lunch were cornbread muffins and other assorted treats. With crockpots full of chili simmering around the shop all morning, it's the one day of the year when this machine shop doesn't smell like one!

A 120 x 104 rotor was shipped off today to its new home in Texas. At nearly 120,000 lbs., this is the heaviest rotor we’ve loaded with the overhead cranes in our new building. The rotor, with a 199” long shaft and 98” diameter end discs, went out on an impressive 115’ long truck.

ISO 9001:2015, developed by the International Organization for Standardization, is the world’s most popular quality management system standard. The standard helps businesses demonstrate their commitment to producing quality products and providing customer satisfaction. Our certification was earned after much groundwork by Bowe and Iowa Quality Center staff, and after thorough external audits conducted by Orion Registrar, an independent accredited registrar company.
We’re extremely proud of our team and their efforts to attain the certification, but we’re not about to rest on our laurels now! We look forward to a continual process of maintaining, auditing, and improving our processes to best serve our customers.
