Big news, Eastern Iowa — Holmes SkidWorks just bought a bigger shovel.
Meet the newest member of the crew: a John Deere 40 P-Tier excavator. She digs 11 feet deep, reaches over 18 feet, and has plenty of muscle for drainage work, trenching, excavation, and light demolition around the Quad Cities.

Treated myself to excavator therapy today! What a beautiful day to put in a gravel parking pad! Thank you Amber Moore Holmes for letting me get this one done!

Learning to operate the excavator is definitely a learning curve, but I think this parking pad turned out great!

Wrapping up the weekend work, with softball tomorrow. On Thursday I teamed up with Jeremy from Dump Stars QC LLC to put in a driveway, and Saturday relocated a sump pump drain, and installed a piped down spout.

I left with an empty trailer and filled it up with the new John Deere 40p. It’s new on all levels. Get ready in the upcoming days for more offering.

Cool little project, took a bit of time 3 days because the ground is saturated! A little before and after. Customer is going to build a garage on a side of a hill.

Nothing is level until you put a laser on it!!!

So 16 days ago I posted a video of Jack and Axel doing some Hydroseeding, today I get a text with some great before and after. Let me know what you think!! I think with the 10+ inches of rain it has done great!

Samantha and I rocked out literally today. We finished one project, then ran down and picked on a little shed.

Had a great day with Jack (my Hydroseeding sprayer) Axel (my video and photo guy). Will be glad to get back in the dirt next. Although there is something to be said about the feeling of planting millions of grass seeds. In total we did 3 projects, and about 12k sq ft.
