Scott Govertsen, a former dirt track racer, used to sell T-shirts with his wife and daughters in the grandstands at his races. When customers started asking for custom apparel, he decided to print his own.

Today he runs Chatham Clothing Company in Chatham, NY, printing live at county fairs, car shows, and Little League games with a Vastex V-100 manual rotary tabletop press. At some events he makes $3,000 to $4,000 in a single day.

"I'm proof that you can take an entry-level press out in public, use it in a commercial setting and be really successful."

Carleigh Stillwagon was a competitive gymnast for 14 years. When an injury forced her retirement and COVID hit, she started a custom apparel business in her dad's basement with a heat press.

She wanted to grow but one heat press could only take her so far. She attended Vastex's four-day Screen Printing A to Z training class with zero screen printing knowledge. After the class, she invested in a Vastex V-2000HD six-color/six-station manual press and went from 100 shirts a week to 100 shirts an hour.

"We went to Vastex with zero knowledge of screen printing, and afterward we knew everything we needed to get started."

Her story is a good reminder that the right training and equipment can completely change the trajectory of a small business.

We just got our hands on a Rudy Press thanks to our friends at Ryonet!

It’s been great to see the excitement the Rudy Press has brought to the screen printing industry, and we’ve already heard from a lot of Vastex customers who are excited about using it with their Vastex manual presses.

You might know us for screen printing, but our dryers go a lot further than that.

We build infrared conveyor dryers for car parts, electronics, aerospace, and military applications. The dryers in these photos feature beds for high temperature heating. Some include stainless steel belts and one is specifically designed for drying tubes used in evaporative cooling and industrial refrigeration.
