I have made things since I was a wee tyke. I spent a career creating technology, helping create manufacturing machines for HP, making high voltage machines, building spacecraft, and many, many fun things. My wife and I bought a farm with a barn, and I have spent the last year and a half of my “semi-retirement” putting it into shape. Then my wife suggested I buy a used CNC machine from a friend and Green Ridge Metal Works was born. I have used the CNC machine to make artistic signs, tools for the farm, and address numbers for friends. Amanda and I have four motorcycles between us, and love to ride. I parked one of my motorcycles on sand and had it go down, and had a friend blow out a knee trying to save hers that was going down in hot asphalt. It was a problem, and needed a solution. I looked at kickstand reinforcements were available, and wanted to create something more personalized, and so I made pucks for my wife, and friends, and took some to Germany as presents to fellow bikers there. The response was very positive, so we decided to share with you. There are other, less expensive pucks out there, and they will do a fine job of keeping your bike vertical in soft ground. If these don't quite scratch the itch, we can make one that is totally unique to you. Our pucks are a personal statement of our relationship to our bikes. We aren't religious about brands, or styles, or whether someone wears leather or Kevlar. We love life on two wheels, and love to share that with other people. We wave at everyone on the road. We know that when you get on the road with only two wheels under you, one wheel behind the other, you understand the dance with the Earth that happens when you enter a corner and accelerate out of it. You know the smell of rain on a summer morning, or the leaves in the fall, in a way that you can't travelling in an enclosed, windowed box. We understand and share that passion with you. We do everything here at the Farm in Colorado. I create the designs and cut the steel. I collect the used tires from the local tire shops and cut them into chunks and shape them to fit each puck. I powder coat the steel and then attach them to the tires. Amanda, my wife, sews the heavy duty storage bags that we include with each puck. When you call I will answer the phone, I will work with you to create your unique design. Clara will chase the tennis ball. It is a family operation.
