Artist in Forged Metals. I started hitting hot metal over 45 years ago. In 1998 I wrote, "A Blacksmithing Primer" which has become a very successful book and was also made into a professional 6 hour DVD set. Besides teaching and demonstrating hot metal work for schools and blacksmithing groups I am also working in my own studio with a 60 ton hydraulic forging press showing how hot metal works like

Here is the schedule of blacksmithing classes through April at Expressive Metals School of Blacksmithing, near Berkeley Springs, WV. I have been teaching blacksmithing for almost 50 years, at my own shop and across the nation. I have been a three time demonstrator for ABANA and once for CanIron, and I am currently forging a double gate. I am an ABANA National Curriculum Level 2 Instructor, focusing on learning the skills to be able to make anything in blacksmithing.
