Agriculture is not only a way of life for some of our members, but essential for all of us to ensure we are well nourished with 3 meals a day.

Every 2 years Ontario County,NY puts on a large community event appropriately named " Fun on the Farm ". This event is hosted by a large dairy farm and the goal is to educate the community on how a Dairy farm works, and the importance of Agriculture in the community. This year's event was held on Saturday September 28th at Hemdale farms in Seneca Castle. Hemdale farms milks over 1,700 cows utilizing 24 Lely robotic milkers. They also grow a number of vegetables on their 3,000 acre farm, most notably...cabbage.
( Fun fact... did you know Phelps,NY use to be the Sauerkraut capitol of the world!!)

The Bellona IH club has been actively showing tractors at this event since 2017, however members have been volunteering for many years prior and continue to this day helping to make this a top agriculture event in the state.

Thank you to those who brought tractors to display or use, and who volunteered their time helping make this year's event a success!!

See you in 2 years at the next one!!

Last year a suggestion was made to have a "Drive your tractor to a club meeting night".

Last year's event saw 5 tractors attending the meeting..... this year the number almost doubled with a few showing off the Stars and Stripes. It was a beautiful afternoon/evening to hold this event. Thank you to the owners for bringing the tractors out!!!

On Saturday November 11th we held our end of year Christmas party/last meeting. There was 63 members present and not one person left hungry after all the food!!!

The final act of the day was installing our new officers/directors for 2024. With that comes the changing of the gavel to a new club president.

Howie has led this club onward and upward for the past 13 years. We thank Howie for his years of leadership and wish him well on future endeavors/retirement!.

Congratulations to Randy and others on their election to their position for the club. Best wishes to all for the remainder of 2023 and we will see you all next year!!!!

On Saturday August 19th we had our annual club tractor ride. The weather was absolutely phenomenal for the 28 tractors and one Antique car with 43 members on powered vehicles, and 18 more riding on a wagon.

Our route had us leaving from Oaks Corners and meandering east to our first stop at the Waterloo outlet mall. After a 30 minute stop we made our way north to Finger Lakes Live Steamers(FLLS) F.L.L.S. has been operating at the north end of Seneca county for over 50 years, with many of our members not knowing of its existence. Members were able to take a lap around the track if they so chose.

We would like to thank the members of F.L.L.S. for allowing us to stop in and check out their operation. They have an open house weekend on September 23/24th from 10-4 each day if anyone wants to check it out for themselves!!

After a pretend " All Aboard " we rode back to Oaks Corners where we enjoyed a catered lunch and got to visit and hang out. The club ride is always a highlight event of the year and we couldn't have asked for a better day.

Thank you to the various photographers who let me use these pictures.

Check the comments for a quick video of a train leaving the station!!!

As the weather in NY starts to warm up and our members start to think about getting tractors ready for spring field work or summer tractor shows, around 40 members gathered yesterday to enjoy some pizza and show off some of their smaller tractors and equipment. This show of toys was open to all colors of equipment and allowed members to display anything that they owned.

In total there was a bit over 220 tractors/ implements, 7 train cars, 2 pinewood derby cars, and 1 Ooops award that will be seeking a place on someone else's mantel in November!!

Thank you to all of our members who brought in toys to display. It was a good time by all and most would enjoy doing it again.
