NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston has taken lunar mission preparations to the next level through rigorous thermal vacuum testing. Using “Chamber A,” a specialized facility capable of replicating the moon’s extreme conditions, engineers evaluate how advanced solar technologies perform under temperatures as low as 20 Kelvin. These tests simulate the harsh vacuum environment and thermal cycles that equipment will endure on the lunar surface.
