Most people don’t give up on bonsai because it’s hard. They give up because they were learning alone.

One session at our nursery changes that. You’ll pot and style your own tree with our team right beside you, ask every question you’ve been holding onto, and leave with a living bonsai you shaped yourself.

Everything is included: tree, pot, soil, tools. Just show up.
$85 per seat, tax included. All skill levels welcome.

Four spots just opened for this Sunday's Bonsai Basics Workshop!

We don't hold as many workshops this time of year. Between vacations, summer plans, and kids heading off to college, August gets busy fast.

But we still have four openings this Sunday, August 9, plus a few spots on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 23.

Bonsai Basics is a lot of fun, completely beginner-friendly, and everyone leaves with their own bonsai. No experience needed. We'll walk you through everything.

If there's someone in your house heading off to college soon, this is a nice excuse to slow down and spend a morning together first.

For the past five years, we’ve had the opportunity to display bonsai trees at Franklin Park Zoo as part of a private donor event supporting the zoo.

This Saturday, we’re doing something a little different, and you can join us.

Peter Olson will be hosting a special outdoor Bonsai Basics Workshop right at the zoo. The weather looks beautiful, and this is a great excuse to spend the day at Franklin Park Zoo while also trying something completely new.

You don’t need a bonsai tree or any experience. Peter will walk everyone through the basics, and you’ll create your own Jade bonsai tree from start to finish, including potting, pruning and styling it. Everything is included, and your finished bonsai goes home with you.

Come with a friend, make it a date, or simply join us for a fun morning outside.
