Hello,
I would like to take a second to introduce myself to you. My name is Dusten Watson and I am a 4th generation family farmer in Bellevue and the VP of Watson Farms. We tend to the land that we own and lease in Erie, Huron, Sandusky and Seneca counties and strive for excellence in everything that we do. We take pride in our workmanship in hopes to improve the land for future generations of f
amily members to tend to. Currently, our team consist of myself, my Father, Lee and longtime family friend Joe, who has been working for us full-time now for 7 years. My Wife, Ruth, works off the farm, but pitches in every second that she can as time allows. My Mom, Connie, is retired and can be found helping us move from farm to farm or running to get parts. My Grandmother, Jeanette, also helps move us around or by making meals to keep us going during the busy time of the year. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to bring in my son and daughter into the operation full time as they both have shown an interest in tending to the land just as their Great-Great-Grandfather John Watson did many years before them. As you are aware Agriculture is an ever-evolving business to be in. We are always looking for ways to improve what we are doing within our operation in order to maximize potential on everything that we do. Little items such as newer equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency in the fields. Bigger items such as soil sampling every field, using gps in every machine and using variable rate technology for fertilizer, seed and chemicals. The pace of the industry is like no other, no longer is it the cow and plow days of my grandfather’s generation, it is truly a business where every day presents a new opportunity with the global commodity markets or challenges with new rules and regulations. Thank-you for your time, if you have any questions feel free to call me at your convenience!
