With 4 years of hands-on experience in pumps, Alexis brings both skill and passion to the field. Originally from Chicago, she got her start working in a local automotive shop before stepping into the world of pumps and service.

One of the things Alexis enjoys most about the job is the variety each day brings.

“Every day is something different. Even when it’s the same pump, it can have a completely different problem to fix.”

Alexis is also passionate about encouraging more women to enter the trades because she knows they would absolutely thrive in this industry.

Shutdown Season Starts with Reliability: Inside This Goulds Pump Rebuild at Michigan's only authorized Goulds Service Center

This Goulds pump from an EES Coke battery application came into our shop after a catastrophic thrust bearing failure. During teardown, we found oversized bearing housings, excessive wear ring clearances, and damaged shaft sleeves caused by packing wear.

Our team completed a full reliability-focused rebuild:
• Replaced shaft sleeves with Titanium Coated sleeves for longer life
• Installed new bearing housings
• Upgraded wear rings to Nitronic 60
• Restored impeller clearances
• Replaced bearings and packing

The end result was a fully restored pump built for improved efficiency, reliability, and extended service life in a critical process operation.
