Some days I'm working on really great racecars, other days I'm working on the trailer. Added new interior lights and new running lights on the outside. Next up is running the tail light wires on the inside so the squirrels can't chew on them anymore. It's all part of the adventure! Many thanks to Travis DiTulio for all of your help! The Ralt keeps giving me Easter eggs! The Aluminum engine mount plates have huge cracks where they were formed. An incorrect alloy was used, 6061-T6 probably. Also, one of the bracket mounting bolts is very loose, see the red arrow. Need help with your racecar? Contact me! Design.Build.Race

The Kellison is getting some race prep today! It completed the season last year in good shape so the "to do" list is relatively short. I disassembled the front end and corrected something that should result in more front grip. Change a few fluids, do an alignment, nut and bolt, and clean it up. Why would someone install a fuel cell and not include foam in the cell? I guess the foam can't get old and deteriorate if it isn't there... 😲. I suppose this shouldn't surprise me after 25 years. Foam is an inexpensive part of the overall safety of a racecar. It also improves handling by slowing weight transfer caused by fuel moving around. Need help with your racecar? Contact me!

I built this inexpensive chassis table and stands for the Europa project. It's pretty flat, has grid lines every six inches, and four coats of polyurethane to reduce grimey hand prints. Once the new suspension, engine, and gearbox have been test fitted, everything will be disassembled. The chassis will then be media blasted and painted.
