The 2026 DBVF Competition challenged university students to design, build, test, and fly their own vertical flight aircraft — putting their engineering skills to the ultimate real-world test.

From first design decisions to flight day, these teams experienced what it’s really like to solve complex aerospace challenges, work under pressure, and turn an idea into an aircraft that FLIES.

Labor Day may mark the unofficial end of summer, but it’s also a chance to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and ingenuity of American workers who keep our communities, economy, and nation moving forward.

At SURVICE, we’re especially grateful for the incredible people who bring their expertise, passion, and commitment to work every day, supporting our customers, strengthening our communities, and helping equip the Warfighter with the capabilities they need.

We pause to remember the Spirit of ’45 - the courage, sacrifice, and unity of the "Greatest Generation" who ended World War II and helped build a freer world.

We honor the men and women who served in uniform, the "Rosie the Riveters" who kept the home front strong, and every American who pulled together through hardship so that future generations could live in peace.
