Transition update: On January 3,2019, I became part of the OReillys Auto Parts team at Bedford, Pa. Several team members and myself started visiting potential customers for the new store that is to open Saturday February 2. 2019. As part of the OReillys team, I'll be responsible for handling the commercial accounts and parts delivery to customers. I bring to OReillys, my expertise and knowledge of ALL types of batteries and battery applications, from flowed acid, AGM, and GEL batteries to lithium and ni-cd batteries. Batteries for auto, truck, farm and heavy equipment, motor cycle, ATV, boats and campers, to key fobs and solar power. I'm looking forward to continue providing the people of Bedford and surrounding areas the best service in the area.

Battery Warehouse of Bedford, located at 9470 Lincoln Highway, Bedford, Pa. , is collecting junk batteries for a fund drive to help the Bedford County Players to replace equipment, props, costumes, and materials lost in the fire. Junk batteries are ALL batteries containing lead: automotive, truck, heavy equipment, motorcycle/atv, golf cart, sealed lead acid (sla) and deep cycle batteries. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Bedford County Players.

The Gardner Memorial Theater was lost in a fire. Battery Warehouse of Bedford is starting a drive to help the Bedford County Players replace equipment and materials lost in the fire. Battery Warehouse of Bedford will be posting tips on battery care and maintenance. I will explain parts of the care and maintenance, further questions will be answered here or by stopping by Battery Warehouse. There are many types of battery compositions, most batteries are " Flooded Acid" composed of the lead plates, insulating material, and filled with liquid acid. Flooded acid batteries are either maintenance free or have fill caps for checking the electrolyte level. When checking the electrolyte level, use ALL safety precautions. Before charging, make sure the electrolyte level is above the plates, use distilled water only to bring the level up enough to cover the plates. Electrolyte final level should be checked after the battery is completely charged and be 1/16" to 1/8" below the vent ring. AGM and GEL batteries are two more types of batteries, used for many different applications. AGM and GEL are very different in composition and maintenance. AGM batteries are constructed with fiberglass mat between the plates then the proper amount of acid is added to each cell. AGM are Absorbed Glass Mat, never open or add acid to an AGM Battery. GEL batteries are a type of AGM battery, gel paste acid is applied to the glass mat before the battery cell is assembled.
