HIRING: Mechanical Design Engineer

Modern Machinery of Beaverton is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Beaverton, Michigan. This position plays an important role in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and equipment used in the manufacturing of thermoforming machinery.
As part of the MODERN team, you’ll help turn engineering concepts into working machinery, from developing mechanical drawings and bills of materials to supporting machine startup and customer training.
What You’ll Do:
- Apply engineering principles to machinery design
- Develop and maintain mechanical drawings and bills of materials
- Work alongside technicians during initial machine startup
- Assist with customer training and technical support
- Support fabrication, installation, operation, and repair of mechanical equipment
What We’re Looking For:
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor
- Familiarity with mechanical devices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Associate degree and 3–5 years of experience preferred
- Ability to travel occasionally
