Building envelopes are doing more than ever before.

As energy code requirements become more demanding, continuous insulation plays an important role in reducing thermal bridging and improving wall performance. The Polymeric Exterior Products Association recently released a helpful resource covering polymeric claddings over continuous insulation, including climate zone guidance, fastening recommendations, and installation considerations.

Why does continuous insulation matter?

Even a well-insulated wall can lose energy through the framing. That’s where continuous insulation comes in. By covering the studs with a continuous thermal layer, it helps reduce thermal bridging and improves performance.
