With state sh*****ng season opening up in a few days for Alabama, the owners of the wooden shrimp boat Angela Marie, dropped her off for a new pin-able mooring bollard that still gave them room above their culling table. We built the aluminum top on this boat back about a year or so ago and was happy to take care of their needs again this time!

Customer brought us in this hydraulic trachoe thumb that had taken a beating. Both pin ears were bent. One side had been racked over a 3/8” and the other side was bent out over 1/2” and rolled down 3/16” as you can see from one of the before pictures of the pin alignment.

Got both ears straightened back out and realigned for proper pin alignment (Video at the end!). Added in some gussets out of 1/2” plate to help keep this from happening again.

Also straightened out the tines on the end of the thumb and put some 1/2” strongbacks down the side to help strengthen them up as well as ground out and welded back up some cracks that were caused by when the tines were bent!

Down in Daphne today at the new Infirmary Health Daphne location wrapping up installation work on an X-ray room door weighing in at approximately 10,000 pounds!

We were brought in to assist a company out of Pennsylvania with assembly and installation of this massive door system. Our scope included assembling the door frame, mounting and welding it into place, anchoring the bottom bearing plate to the floor, and then using lasers to precisely line up and install the top bearing plate before welding it to the door framing.

Once everything was aligned and secured, we assisted with hanging the door, getting it mounted onto the bearing plates, and then returned to plug weld the door cover panel in place to complete the install.

Projects like this take precision, planning, and teamwork when dealing with extremely heavy specialty equipment. Proud to have been a part of another unique commercial install.

We just wrapped up roughly 150 feet of sleek, modern grab rail at the Broadmoor condos, and the finished product speaks for itself. Clean lines, solid feel, and a design that flows perfectly with the all new composite decking.

Big shoutout to our good friends at Gulf Coast Dock Masters for bringing us in on this project. They knocked it out of the park replacing the entire deck system with composite decking! The color, texture, and durability completely elevated the space to a more modern and fresh look! We were proud to come in behind that and add grab rails that not only meet safety standards but actually enhance the look instead of taking away from it.

We recently had the opportunity to fabricate and install a custom steel staircase at Fort Riel Armory in Fairhope for Crucible Construction. This set of stairs was designed, engineered, and stamped to meet all required codes and guidelines for stair systems and handrails—ensuring both safety and long-term durability.

Finished in a clean satin black, this staircase not only performs to spec but adds a sharp, professional look to the space.

Wrapping up this week in the shop with a 200g fuel cell build. This tank is full bed length with your typical riser for between the cab and tool box. This tank is for a crew truck for a logging operation so I decided to bump the material thinkness up to 3/16” steel instead of your typical 14 gauge (a little thicker than 1/16”) that most generic tanks are built from. If youve been around many logging crews, youd know why! 🤣 Tank is also fitted with 2” b**gs on top of the riser. One for a vented filler cap and the other for a electric pump. Also a 1/2” b**g was welded in the bottom for a drain. Tank was pressure tested to 8psi and held for 15 mins. We are also going to be building a custom rack on top of this tank once installed in the truck to hold multiple pole saws!

Finishing up this week on a vibratory cable plow blade for Underground Unlimited. Sections of the blade were worn down paper thin and had to be cut off and new plating welded back on. Welded on a new shank and cutting edge from where the old ones broke off. And finished up with 10lbs of hard facing to the lower 36” of the blade including all weld seams and edges of the blade. Sand really whoops on these blades so hopefully they can get a few weeks of use out of it before we have to re-hard face this blade again!

Wrapped up this week down at Craneworks getting a Komatsu 210 bucket repaired. Had 2 shanks broken off. Washed the old ones off and welded two new ones on!

312’ of 54” tall black pool fence and 5 new walkway gates at the Breezyville Condo in Gulf Shores! Demo’d the existing fence due to it falling down and having corroded mounting hardware and not passing rental code anymore. Brand new everything now and ready for the high traffic rental season!
