750,000 man-hours. Zero recordable or lost-time incidents.

Excel Modular Scaffold’s New Jersey cluster of sites recently reached this milestone, and we couldn’t let it pass without a proper celebration. The crew enjoyed a catered meal, and everyone went home with company-branded hats and koozies. Drawings followed for hoodies, Yeti mugs, hi-vis jackets and more, with the final rounds awarding two pairs of Beats headphones and two 55" TVs to a few lucky winners.

It took this small crew years of consistent, careful work to get here. Their dedication to working efficiently and safely every single day is what makes a milestone like this possible, and it was a pleasure to recognize them for it. Congratulations, and thank you.

Jose Sanchez identified an unsafe stairway at the west entrance of the contractor lunch trailer, where the platform had separated from the building. He proactively barricaded the entrance to prevent injuries while the scaffold crew evaluated temporary reinforcement options until permanent repairs can be made.

Thank you, Jose, for catching it and acting right away.

Felipe Legarda and his crew completed the JJSV, permit, and JSA before starting a scaffold build. When the requesting contractor asked to relocate the scaffold about 8 feet and raise it to a higher elevation, Felipe reassessed the work area and spotted nearby electrical power cables. He stopped work and brought in the Safety Department to establish a safe path forward.

Great job recognizing changing conditions and protecting your crew, Felipe.

As conditions changed through the day, they noticed the temperature inside the vessel had risen above the outside temperature and stopped work to reassess before proceeding.
