Investing in the Next Generation of Manufacturing and Business Leaders
This summer, Virginia Steel and Fabrication was proud to partner with Internships Virginia (InVA) to host three outstanding student interns: Cooper Hurst (University of Virginia), Walker Patterson (Emory & Henry University), and Luke Davis (Washington and Lee University).
Throughout the summer, Cooper, Walker, and Luke worked alongside our leadership team on projects spanning manufacturing operations, finance, strategic planning, business development, process improvement, and organizational growth. They weren’t here simply to observe—they contributed meaningful ideas, embraced real-world challenges, and brought a fresh, next-generation perspective that encouraged us to think differently about the future of both manufacturing and business.
At Virginia Steel and Fabrication, we believe the strongest companies are built by investing in people. Programs like Internships Virginia provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience while helping employers develop the next generation of talent and innovation across the Commonwealth.
To Cooper, Walker, and Luke—thank you for your hard work, professionalism, curiosity, and commitment throughout the summer. We appreciate the contributions each of you made to our team, and we have no doubt you’ll continue to make an impact wherever your careers take you.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to Internships Virginia, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), and everyone involved in making this program possible. Partnerships like these strengthen Virginia’s workforce, support our business community, and help ensure the Commonwealth remains a leader in innovation, manufacturing, and economic growth.
