Construction Safety Week is a great reminder that the most important part of any job isn’t the schedule or the material, it’s the people.

At Hawkins Management, safety is at the core of everything we do. From our operators in the field to our drivers and partners on-site, we’re committed to making sure everyone goes home the same way they showed up: safe.

Whether it’s proper site preparation, material handling, or daily communication, we believe strong safety practices build stronger projects.

As we continue supplying quality clay and select fill for critical sitework, we also remain focused on supporting safe, efficient job sites; along with our ACM disposal services that help keep projects compliant and protected.

Let’s keep safety top of mind this week and every week.

Most people hear “fill material” and think it’s all the same… it’s not.

At Hawkins Management, we work with materials and services that are critical to keeping projects moving safely and on spec.

Clay vs. Select Fill, what’s the difference?

🔹 Clay
Ideal for low-permeability applications like:
• Clay core trenches
• Pond and basin liners
• Containment areas

Clay helps control water movement and creates a strong, stable barrier where it matters most.

🔹 Select Fill
Best suited for structural support and grading:
• Building pads
• Backfill
• Site stabilization

Select fill is designed for proper compaction and consistency, helping keep projects on schedule and within spec.

🔹 ACM Disposal (Asbestos-Containing Material)
In addition to supplying material, we also operate a landfill that accepts both friable and non-friable ACM.
• Safe, compliant disposal
• Reliable turnaround
• One less headache for your project team

From supplying the right material to handling regulated disposal, we’re here to support your job from start to finish.

If you’ve got a project coming up and aren’t sure what you need, let’s talk.

⚾ Opening Day is here!

Just like in baseball, success in construction comes down to preparation, consistency, and executing when it counts. At Hawkins Management, we take that same mindset to every project—delivering reliable select fill and clay materials that keep jobs moving forward, no matter the conditions.

And just as important as building is supporting the full lifecycle of a job through safe, efficient ACM disposal that keeps projects compliant and on schedule from start to finish.

From the first pitch to the final inning, it’s all about building a strong foundation.

Here’s to a great season ahead on the field and on the job site. ⚾

☘️Happy St. Patrick’s Day from of us at Hawkins Management!☘️

We’re feeling lucky to be part of such a hardworking industry and to work alongside great partners every day. Whether it’s rain, mud, or a little Irish luck nothing stops the job from getting done.

Here’s to a safe, productive, and maybe a little lucky day out there. 🍀

The last two weeks of rain and snow have definitely kept things interesting. 🌧️

In construction and landfill operations, rain doesn’t always stop the work… but it can turn haul roads into mud, slow truck traffic, and make even simple tasks a little more “adventurous.”

At Hawkins Management, we’ve seen plenty of muddy boots and dirty trucks lately, but the work keeps moving.
Here’s hoping the forecast gives us a break soon; the trucks (and our boots) would appreciate it. ☀️

(Here's a look at what we've been dealing with for the past month)
