Please join us in welcoming Emily Caffrey to the Solar Oysters team! As the new production technician, Emily oversees the Solar Oyster Production System (SOPS) and will assess its operations and performance while the young oysters are growing in their rotating, open-water baskets. Emily will also assist with the UMBC ICARE Program research being performed on the SOPS, data collection, educational outreach, and program administration.

Emily is planning on graduating from the University of Florida with a Master’s of Science in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in August. She enjoys scuba diving and sea kayaking.
