A graduate of both Pennsylvania State University and Towson University, Zolna has been a force in the profession since 1985. Her technical expertise, thought leadership, and unwavering commitment to sustainability have left an indelible mark on our practice, the profession, and the communities and landscapes she’s shaped over the last four decades.

Floura Teeter’s Dan Harold and Joe Ignatius recently attended the 2026 Pennsylvania-Delaware ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture in Dewey Beach.

The two-day conference brought together landscape architects from across the region for presentations, workshops, and field sessions focused on collaboration, community resiliency, and habitat stewardship.

The event concluded with an awards gala, emceed by Dan, where Floura Teeter was honored with:

Last week, our team visited Ruppert Nurseries in Laytonsville, MD for a behind-the-scenes look at their large-scale tree cultivation and relocation operations.

We enjoyed learning about the journey our project trees take before installation—and exploring the grounds via hayride!

Upgrades to Philadelphia’s Joseph F. Vogt Playground and Recreation Center are officially underway. Leaders recently gathered to break ground on the 15.8-acre site, a longtime cornerstone of the historic Tacony neighborhood.

This $8 million project will bring major upgrades to the 1965-built facility and grounds, including improved accessibility, state-of-the-art building systems, new playground equipment, landscaping, and a future walking path.

Floura Teeter is proud to lead the landscape architecture for this project and looks forward to watching it take shape over the coming months, supporting Vogt’s continued role in the community for generations to come.

We’re excited to welcome Javi Diaz-Ortiz to the Floura Teeter team as a Landscape Designer!

With a passion for design that uplifts communities and restores natural habitats, Javi brings experience across a wide range of public realm projects throughout the DMV, including commercial, institutional, and civic work.

Beyond the studio, Javi is committed to shaping the next generation of the profession. As Student Outreach Committee Chair for the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (MD-ASLA), she leads initiatives ranging from annual portfolio reviews to a mentorship program she developed to support emerging designers.

Zoe is a multidisciplinary designer grounded in community-centered thinking. She draws from a diverse background spanning landscape, graphic, and web design, as well as industrial design and public art—bringing a thoughtful and expansive perspective to her work.

Beyond the studio, Zoe is cultivating her voice in the field as the host of a podcast celebrating local landscapes and the communities that shape them.

In her free time, Zoe plays multiple instruments and enjoys bouldering, cooking, and making art.

We're excited to welcome Tim Madden to the Floura Teeter team as a Senior Associate.

Tim is a licensed Landscape Architect with more than 15 years of experience. He has worked on transportation and corridor vegetation projects across the state of Maryland - safely connecting drivers, pedestrians, multimodal travelers, and pollinators.

Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with family, travelling, seeing live music, and has biked from DC to the beach multiple times.

The Floura Teeter team recently gathered at our headquarters in Baltimore for our annual retreat. We put pencils down for the day to reflect, reconnect, and plan for the firm’s future.

Together, we revisited the past year’s successes, explored new challenges, and identified opportunities for growth in 2026 and beyond. Every voice was heard, Zach’s vegan carrot cake was devoured, and we even picked up some tips from Gabby on posing for the group photo.

More than anything, the day was a reminder that our strength comes from a shared commitment to doing meaningful work—and supporting one another along the way.
