Positions Summary:
Victory provides an excellent opportunity to learn the steel industry and grow in your career. We are looking for Crane, Shear and Bender Operators.
Crane operators:
• Operate crane with hand-held device to move, position and transport bundles of steel.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Perform other miscellaneous duties/general labor duties as required.
Shear Operators:
• Select bar size and cut specified bar lengths and quantities in accordance with schedule priorities.
• Set shearline stops to required bar lengths. Operate shearline control mechanism to advance stock steel bars to shearline stops and operate shear control to cut multiple lengths
• Coordinate the bundling and identification of cut stock bundles to ensure proper tagging.
• Detect and report defective material, improper operation, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and practices.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties/general labor duties as required.
Bender Operators:
• Receive direction from supervisor and work from job instructions, bar lists, bar bend charts.
• Follow standard or prescribed operating methods, procedures, and safety rules.
• Operate reinforcing steel bar bending machines to perform simple to moderately complex bends.
• Follow bending instructions from Supervisor to learn and perform a full range of simple to complex bends.
• Align steel bars and activate machine mechanisms to initiate bending process. Bend bars to customer specifications, check measurements and bend type upon completion of initial bend to ensure accuracy of bend and type
Experience:
Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn operation of pendant crane, forklift, automatic bending machine, shear and other plant equipment and operations.
Perform other miscellaneous duties/general labor duties as required.
• Heavy lifting required.
• Experience in related field helpful.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Forklift experience
Schedule:
• 8-hour shift +overtime

Responsibilities:
Repair unexpected machinery failures in order to keep shop operating.
Perform preventative maintenance to all machinery (i.e. cranes, shears, benders, trailers, etc.)
Diagnose cause of malfunctions by sight, sound or actions of plant equipment machinery or processes.
Perform inspections for safe and proper operation on all machinery in accordance with OSHA Safety and Health standards.
Coordinate all shop repairs, projects and maintenance with Shop Manager, Superintendent and Facilities Manager when necessary.
Secure best price and availability for spare parts.
Purchase, inventory, and warehouse all spare parts & incidental items needed to keep shop running at optimum efficiency.
Attend all safety meetings to ensure safety issues are being addressed.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Essential skills and experience:
Planning: Ability to think and plan ahead.
Management: Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
Technical: Experience with 480 VAC power & circuits.
Good electrical & mechanical ability to perform repairs on shearlines including hydraulic power units.
Experience with welding/burning.
Ability to drive forklift.
Ability to work in a team environment

Job description:
- Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.
- Assist crane operators, shear operators, and other machine operators in handling/transporting re-bar.
- Follow standard or prescribed procedures and safety rules.
- On occasion, work with others to position and remove steel bars. Stack bars in a neat and orderly fashion to prevent injury and to facilitate bundling and removal.
- Bundle finished bars, attach bar tag(s) and shakeout reinforcing bar as directed.
- Any other miscellaneous duties as needed.

Experience:
