Last week, Columbia Gear had the opportunity to attend a career fair at Rocori High School and connect with students about careers in manufacturing!

As we celebrate Manufacturing Month, events like this are a great reminder of how important it is to introduce the next generation to the many opportunities available in the manufacturing industry. From machining and engineering to maintenance, quality, business, and more, manufacturing offers a wide variety of career paths.
We enjoyed answering questions, sharing more about what we do at Columbia Gear, and talking with students about what a future in manufacturing can look like.

📖 From the Archives | 1994

Let’s take another trip back more than 30 years!

This 1994 Columbia Gear newsletter highlights several upgrades taking place throughout the company as Columbia Gear continued “upgrading for today and the future.”

The article features updates to the Front Office, Grinding Department, and Machine Center, including the addition of an Okuma CNC machine and updated equipment in the Tool Grinding Department. It also highlights the replacement of an older shaper cutter sharpener with a newer automatic machine marking the end of an era for a piece of equipment that had served Columbia Gear for many years.

It’s interesting to see how Columbia Gear was investing in new technology and improving its facilities more than 30 years ago changes that helped lay the groundwork for the manufacturing capabilities we have today.

While the machines and technology have continued to evolve, our commitment to innovation, precision, and continuous improvement remains the same.

This role is a great opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience, blueprint reading skills, mechanical aptitude, and a strong attention to detail.
