Now Hiring: Journeyman Electrician Supervisor

Who is the ideal candidate? A reliable Journeyman Electrician who is ready to take on more responsibility in the field and office, planning for and running jobs while leading and directing others. Are you strong at communication, technically inclined and detailed? Do you like to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve? We need a self-starter who’s motived to perform quality work. Also, it’s important you don’t shy away from elements found in Dairy Barns as most of the work we do is agriculture related.

Hours for the position are 7am to 5:30pm Monday – Thursday with regular scheduled overtime on Fridays. Some Evenings and Saturdays will be required. Scheduled to be on call 1 weekend a month.

Requirements:
Licensed Journeyman in the state of SD. Able to become licensed in MN and ND. Current on continued education requirements.
3-5 years’ experience as a Journeyman OR an EET degree with electrical experience.
Experience troubleshooting – Service work and new construction
Need to excel in logic, analytical thinking, mathematics and visualization.
Have a deep understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and various components. Understands accurate material ordering and planning ahead for work.
Work in varying weather climates and job location environments
Teach, train, and guide electrical apprentices.
Valid Driver’s license, able to drive skid loaders and operate lifts, CDL preferred. You will be driving to worksites (paid at least one way) – Some days more driving than others. Company vehicle provided.

We're hiring a full time Shop Manager to oversee our new shop in Aurora! This individual needs to have an electrical background who is helpful, fast paced, a self starter and motivated to perform quality work!
Competitive Pay dependent on experience, PTO, Holiday Pay, IRA with company match, Benefits Stipend, and Opportunity for Bonus! Hours for the position have some flexibility, 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday – Friday. Some Evenings and Saturdays may be required. Most importantly, you have the opportunity to work for a smaller company who values personal growth and YOU!

Some of the responsibilities include:
• Accept and unload material from wholesalers/delivery drivers and safely transport into receiving bay.
• Receive and document materials from delivery and promptly put them away in their designated location following the established process.
• Ensure all material has a designated part number and location.
• Make sure all bins are backfilled from overstock items every day - Identify and reorder highly used stock items when running low if needed. Work with Inventory Manager to determine needs and lead times.
• Check on material, order material, follow-up on orders, return and/or put away material brought back from the job site.
• Must be Process Improvement and Efficiency focused – seek out, communicate, and implement improvements to the inventory / material process.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are safely secured and inventoried. Tool bags are filled with all necessary tools at all times. Fix broken tools or equipment promptly. If unable to repair or have repaired then discard.
• Do pre fab work as needed.
• Keep Driveways and parking areas clear of Garbage, Snow, Ice, Pallets, Debris, etc at all times.
• Keep shop interior clean and picked up of garbage, mud, etc. Check garbage’s daily. Keep shop bathroom clean and picked up.
• Monitor and complete any preventative maintenance on tools and equipment

Requirements:
• Knowledge of Electrical parts and materials
• Ability to drive Forklift, Skid loader, and Pull / Back up trailers
• Ability to lift and carry heavy (up to 50 lbs.) and/or awkward items and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to use power tools, saws, and other hand tools
• Computer and keyboard skills required
• Good communication skills
• Fluent in English, written and verbal. Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn quickly with minimum supervision
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement

Who is Steadfast Electric? Our name alone tells you what we stand for …. Honesty, Reliability, and Dedication to our work. Founded in 2016 and have grown consistently since. We are busier than ever and need to add to our team!

What do we do? We provide Agricultural, Industrial, Commercial and Solar electrical services around the rural Brookings area. New dairy projects, additions and maintenance are our specialty ranging in location from Summit to Sioux Falls.

Who is the ideal candidate for this opportunity? Someone with electrical experience and strong knowledge of electrical components and materials. An independent, reliable, self-starter who initiates ‘next steps’ and provides quality work the first time. Responsibilities:
Obtain quotes from vendors and price compare, Order and track materials
Communicate directly and confidently with vendors, customers and employees
Check in, put away, and organize materials and deliveries
Estimate project costs confidently and accurately
Monitor and track costs throughout projects
Load and unload trucks
Move/handle various equipment and spools of wire
Proper care for materials, tools and equipment
Assist CEO and Electricians by performing various tasks
Demonstrate safe work habits, comply with safety requirements
Operate power tools such as drills, saws, etc

Requirements:
3-5 years electrical experience is required
Knowledge of electrical processes, procedures and methods
Experience with electrical bidding software
Licensed Apprentice or Journeyman in the state of SD
Valid Driver’s license and able to drive forklift and skid loaders
CDL preferred
Physical requirements:
Lift and carry heavy objects (up to and including 75lbs)
Climb ladders, crawling, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting, reaching, pushing and pulling objects.
Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment
Work at elevated heights on ladders and/or scaffolds
