Next up is the transmission. This is a borg Warner super T-10. Very late model year and a little interesting extension housing. A little different than normal. This was a very good core to start with, I got a rebuild kit from transmission exchange. Transmission exchange is usually where I get all my kits from auto or manual they are a great company and have been in Portland since the 50s and very good conversation once you get there. The trans was disassembled cleaned, the cases were degreased blasted and clean one more time before assembly. New synchros, bushings, bearings and seals were installed. The tail shaft hoisting was a little bu**er since the trans was a 1981 but rear of the mid plate it took early seals and yoke bushing. All assembly was done with anerobic sealing on the gaskets for easy dissemble later on if gear changes and mods are needed later. The front seal cover and side cover were blasted cleaned and treat with a high temp ceramic paint for a forever finish. And again a big thanks you to my main help addy on final assembly and torquing. The shifter assembly is a NOS Mr gasket bang shifter from the early 70s, I’ll include photos of that later.

This is the engine for the 1954 Chevy. It was a 1962 283. It now has a full forged rotating assembly and factory GM performance 302 pistons. We wacked the pistons down a bit from a 12:1 comp ratio to a 11:1 with a slightly thicker MLS gaskets. It has a Iksy 505T magnum camshaft with matched vavlettain components from isky. The valves were used are a tulip cut stainless valves with 2.19 intake and 1.60 exhaust. Brian Tooley pushrods and Harlan sharp rockers 1.5 ratio with 7/16 manly studs and guides. The entire motor was balanced with 1.5 grams. The original water pump was in good shape so I rebuilt that and I decided to use a vintage open plenum offy intake to top it off of the decision of the fuel system I’m going to be running. All internal fasteners are ARP. I big thank you to addy for the help on assembly. It should run ok :)Thanks for looking.
