The KAMO team was selected to volunteer with Augusta Locally Grown’s Hub kitchen! 🧽✨
TL;DR: If you don’t know about Augusta Locally Grown -located in the Hub for Community Innovation Augusta, you’re missing out. They give literally anyone the resources to grow, whether that’s a cooking class or turning a business idea into reality. From farmers to first time entrepreneurs, ALG meets people wherever they’re starting from. That’s exactly why the KAMO team was there today, rolling up our sleeves to deep clean their kitchen so they can keep doing this work.
If you don’t know what ALG does, let us break it down: their commercial kitchen gives local farmers and food producers a certified space to grow their businesses, something they legally can’t do from home once they want to sell across state lines. Beyond the kitchen space, ALG walks folks through licensing, training, and a full business development program, turning backyard growers into real, sustainable businesses.
And that’s just one piece of it. They run weekly cooking and canning classes for families, a maternal health nutrition program, and a food medicine program serving around 95 neighbors a week who are dealing with food insecurity and diet related illness, complete with fresh produce vouchers and dietitian visits.
This place is doing the real work of building a healthier, more self sufficient community, one class, one crop, one small business at a time. We were proud to spend today deep cleaning their kitchen so they can keep doing exactly that.
Support ALG, take a class, or grab a ticket to Harvest at the Hub on October 8-9!
