AWESOME EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Per potential participant demand, and thanks again to the Nostalgia Drag Racing League latest rules for all other classes…this first event for the G3 Hemi Nostalgia Muscle class will be open to all G3 Hemi powered Mopars, ‘79 and earlier !!!!

Disregard the originally posted limit to ‘71 and earlier.

And now that we have doubled the participant pool, we can’t wait to see you all out there !

Some folks ask why we started Blackbird Performance ? ….this video is a great example of the ‘WHY?’.

After weeks of hardcore thrashing to transform his 2006 Charger, into a safe, reliable 9 second DragNDrive machine, and at the end of a 36 hour push by he, his friend Kyle and Kyle’s wife, Liz, to make it run, IT LIVES!!

In the video, if you get past this soon to be 9 second 2006 Charger and it’s sweet running G3 Hemi, now tuned up with a pile of our parts, and you see his face (after he had 3-4 hours sleep), you know why we exist.

A good day at the track with some great folks, working together to dial in the Paul Rossi themed ‘21 Dodge Challenger.

Along with John, Phil and Tony of PMR, of course Tony behind the wheel, we had Keaton White down from our Skunkworks, and the man himself, Paul Rossi.

Despite the horrific conditions, 135 plus water grains and 94F + temps 🥵, bad especially for superchargers with intercoolers that make it rain inside the engine in these conditions, we learned a lot.

We made good progress in sorting out the chassis, Paul was clearly pleased seeing this car at 180+, Tony got to get more seat time in his new ride and run a personal best, and Phil and I got to spend the day at the track doing what we love, sorting out race cars and see folks we care about drive them and smile. And I know Tony was smiling when he ran a new personal fast time behind the wheel.

Second, we had the great pleasure of helping another customer by testing his Keaton W. built Race Spec 600+, this one EFI with a simple and affordable Holley Terminator X for control. Despite the water dripping off the walls, with 130+ grains of H2O, displacing O2 and slowing the burn, it made just about what it should once dialed in on the last of its check out / tuning pulls. The COOLEST part, it’s going to Rex Hennings to put in his just AWESOME ‘70 Dodge Charger, a car he has owned 30 years and soon to get a breath of fresh G3 Hemi power. Better yet, he’s keeping the 833 four speed, rowing gears with the pistol grip shifter. My first car ever being a ‘69 Charger and Keaton, driving his similar hue Charger, this project is a dream to many of us, and soon to be a G3 Hemi powered one. Thanks Rex for trusting us to be a part of it.

First up, we played some more with the high winding big power, punched out Drag Pak engine. Today’s adventure was to begin the effort to prepare it for its very exciting next mission…still classified but more on that very, very exciting story soon. We lowered inlet restriction to its diminutive 3.0l Whipple, running a very big oval throttle body, that small children and dogs are warned to stay clear of above 9,000+ RPM, and it liked it. We will make some changes including a dry sump and get it back to the dyno ASAP.
