Some of our students together with Dr. Wilkinson from the Chemistry department at Georgia Tech recently visited Argonne National Laboratory to conduct experiments at the Advanced Photon Source. Our goal was to study the early hydration behavior of various cement systems and pure phases during the first 30 minutes.
To capture this data, we developed a custom setup that introduces water to the cement sample during X-Ray Diffraction analysis. This novel approach helps us avoid missing the critical early reactions that would otherwise occur before measurements could begin. It was a great experience working at APS, and we appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with the team there. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the amazing work at
