The ASEI Piper Navajo quick disconnect nose gear link protects your Piper Navajo/Chieftain PA31 nose gear trunnion from damage cased by improper towing or unaware ground-ops for the limits of turning the nose gear by tug operators. The stock linkage on Piper PA31 aircraft only allows the nose gear to swivel +/- 20 degrees. If accidentally "over-turned" or excessively forced into (or past) the hard-stops, severe damage is typically inflicted on nose landing gear components in the wheel well, causing upwards of $10,000-$15,000 in costs to repair.
