BIG NEWS!!
Project Slag Hollow is officially underway! What's that you ask? Lemme explain.
Many of you may remember that I started this business during the pandemic out of a single car garage in Tucker before the landlord passed and the heirs gave just 60 days to vacate. And then that circumstance leading to an arrangement with my family where I could use my late grandfather's woodworking shop? Which was a total life and career saver, but comes with some inconveniences and about three generations worth of clutter that I'm legally not even allowed to recycle, reuse, or rehome? That old story? Yeah, well it's about time to start a new chapter.
The incredibly talented and I rescued a quirky bit of neglected property from some investors (at a loss for them, which we are quite happy about) and we'll be building it out from the ground up. It'll include a significant shop upgrade, but also so much more! There's a pond and a car and a boat and a swamp and a pecan tree and a mountain... of tires. There will be a garden. There will be weird sculpture. There will be cute handy qu**rs.
Naturally, we want to do as much as we possibly can with our own two hands and maybe a little help from friends and other small local businesses. If you've never seen any of Liz's home reno stories then prepare for an educational and inspirational treat.
It's going to take patience and a lot (like, a LOT) of hard work, but I'm incredibly excited to get to work on my new home. Feel free to follow along with the Slag Hollow page. The YouTube channel is also in the works.
Did I mention we're gonna try to build it all out of salvage and eco-friendly materials using traditional and sustainable building practices? Yeah. That part.
