15 years!

Jason Wise joined Wood Equipment Company in 2011 and has been a cornerstone of our team ever since. Half a career, right here.

The knowledge and relationships Jason has built over fifteen years are a big part of what our customers count on when they call us. That kind of experience can't be hired or ordered. It gets earned.

Jason, we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you!

Using remaining capital budget before December 31?

Holiday approvals, purchasing cutoffs, and busy freight lanes make the last few weeks of the year the hardest time to start a purchase. The sooner you get a quote in hand, the better your odds of getting a PO issued in time.

Our team turns quotes around fast on:

Pumps
WEG motors
Control panels with VFDs, HMIs, and SCADA
Custom fabricated skids
Critical spares

Don't let that budget go to waste. Here is where leftover capital does the most good:

Wood Equipment Company now offers Chromalox heat tracing.

Insulation slows heat loss, but it doesn't stop it. Chromalox self regulating heat trace protects pipes, tanks, valves, and instrument lines through the coldest months, adjusting its output on its own along the line.

Chromalox has been building industrial heating products since 1917, and we're glad to bring them to our customers in time for winter.

Repair or replace?

This split case pump came into our Ashland, VA shop covered in rust and scale after years of hard service. Most people would look at it and start shopping for a new one.

We tore it down instead. The casing, usually the most expensive part of a pump, still had plenty of life left in it. New wear parts, restored clearances, a fresh coating, and it went back to the customer ready to drop into the same footprint with no repiping.

Our shop has refurbished hundreds of pumps, and a lot of them saved the customer significant money over full replacement. When a rebuild is not worth it, we will tell you that too.

Cold weather is right around the corner. Is your equipment ready?

Every winter we see cracked casings, frozen lines, and failed seals that could have been caught in October. Our fall pump winterization checklist covers what to drain, what to inspect, and what to protect before the first freeze.

A hot oil pump has one of the hardest jobs in the plant.

600°F fluid. Around the clock. And when it stops, the heat stops moving and so does production.

Industrial processes involving high temperature fluids need specialized pump solutions. WEC's hot oil pump offerings are engineered for three things:
Thermal stability. Casings that grow with the heat without pulling the pump out of alignment.

Seal integrity. Air cooled designs, high temperature seals, and sealless mag drive options when zero leakage is the requirement.

Continuous performance. Bearings and housings built for nonstop duty at temperature.

Asphalt, chemical, plastics, food processing, wood products. If your process runs on thermal fluid, the pump is not the place to compromise.

We wrote up what makes hot oil service different and how to get the selection right: https://woodequip.com/news/hot-oil-pumps-what-changes-when-the-fluid-runs-at-600-degrees/

Pulling a pump shouldn't mean sending someone into the wet well. 🔧

A davit crane and guide rails turn it into a one person job. It's one of the upgrades we cover in our new post on keeping your lift stations running, along with wipes, outdated controls, and wet weather flows.

Another great WaterJAM in the books. 💧

We were back in the exhibit hall this year, catching up with operators and engineers we have known for years and meeting a few new faces along the way.

Shows like this are a reminder that this industry runs on relationships as much as it runs on equipment. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth and everyone we ran into in the hallway.

If we did not get to connect this year, give us a call anytime.

Today we pause to remember September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation. We honor the 2,977 innocent victims taken from us that day, and the service members who never came home from the conflicts that followed.

Never Forget 🇺🇸

Water does not take the day off. Wastewater does not take the day off.

Today, while a lot of the country is at a cookout, operators and maintenance technicians across the country are on shift keeping treatment plants, lift stations, and industrial systems running.

We wanted to take a minute to say thank you to them, and to the plant and facilities managers holding a schedule together with a smaller crew, and to our own field service technicians answering the phone on a holiday weekend because a customer's pump could not wait.

Happy Labor Day, and thank you to everyone keeping things running today.
