Livestock Producers: As part of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, livestock producers impacted by drought will now qualify for:
A one-month Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) payment after four consecutive weeks of qualifying severe drought (D2) conditions instead of eight weeks.
A two-month payment if D2 drought conditions continue for seven out of eight consecutive weeks during the normal grazing period.
These changes are retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026. Producers must file a notice of loss and application for payment by March 1, 2027, for 2026 losses. https://www.fsa.usda.gov/news-events/news/07-08-2026/usda-celebrates-one-year-anniversary-working-families-tax-cuts-act
