When people think about city streets, they typically imagine daily commutes and everyday access. This Spring, parts of Arlington’s street network will also serve as the course for the INDYCAR Grand Prix, which brings a very different set of demands to infrastructure that already works hard year-round.

Helping streets safely support both everyday use and special events is the kind of civil engineering challenge Graham Associates has worked on throughout Arlington’s Entertainment District.

Our annual Chili Cook-Off heated up the office, and the competition was as fierce as a site inspection. 🔥🌶️
From "Rebar Red" to "Foundation Fixin's," our engineers traded blueprints for beans to vie for the coveted Golden Ladle. After a rigorous round of "stress tests" (tasting), we have our champions!
Huge congratulations to Kaitlyn and Juan, our big winners of the day! 🏆

We are proud to see the National Medal of Honor Museum named the #1 Best New Museum by USA TODAY!

Graham Associates had the privilege of contributing to this project from a civil engineering perspective, supporting the infrastructure and site development that helped bring this vision to life. What began as a bold idea has become a powerful destination in Arlington.

This museum is more than a building. It is a place where stories of service, leadership, and sacrifice are shared in a way that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.

Today's team meeting turned into an episode of Survivor. Office Edition! 😂
We kicked off a soft skills activity focused on problem-solving and creative resource management.

The challenge? Build a "tower” using only sheets of paper and tape. Talk about limited resources!
But the real twist came halfway through: a mid-stream "client scope change" where we had to remove the tape from the final phase of our structure and still keep it standing!

Chaos? Yes. Hilarious? Absolutely.

It was a fantastic, hands-on lesson in adaptability, quick thinking, and, most importantly, effective communication under pressure. It just goes to show that the best laid plans often need a little mid-course adjustment, and strong soft skills are your best tools when things get tricky!
Huge shoutout to the team for embracing the chaos and rocking the challenge! 🙌
