First up - the owner and Principal Engineer at Garner Eng, John Garner.
John studied Biosystems Engineering at Clemson University. Since graduation he has developed a specialization in dams. For more than 20 years, he has worked on dam-related projects throughout the southeast. He is now a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Asheville has been home base for the past 16 years, and he's starting to feel at home in these mountains! In addition, he has mentored young engineers, outreached to public education, and currently serves as a governor for ASCE Region 4. Engineering is not his only passion he also enjoys mountain biking, singing, and spending time with his wife and children.
Next - our staff professionals, Bob and Ashley:
As a graduate from Utah State University, Bob holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering. Drawing on his drafting and design background, Bob uses the latest engineering technology to enhance the engineering process. From timber framing to mountain biking, Bob is right at home in WNC. Although an Idaho native, Bob first moved to the Asheville region as a young adult while conducting volunteer work and fell in love with the area and culture. He has recently returned with his wife and 3 children who are happy to call WNC their home.
Ashley is a brand-new addition to the Garner Engineering crew and helps out as our in-house technical writing specialist. With a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Brigham Young University and over 6 years of experience in the field, Ashley brings a unique scientific perspective into our projects and reports. Ashley also specializes in customer services and communications and is fluent in Spanish. In addition to providing analysis on the geologic settings of each area we work in, Ashley prides herself with keeping our clients up to date with their ongoing projects. Outside of office hours, she is a backyard beekeeper and avid trail- runner. She has fallen head over heels for WNC and is thankful for the opportunity to raise her little family in such a gorgeous place!
We love our team! We couldn't make it without them! -eng
