Friends of Plamann Park

Friends of Plamann Park Plamann Park has 257 acres of scenic hills and trails. The park is north of Appleton on Broadway D

The Friends of Plamann Park (FPP) is a non-profit community organization created to preserve and protect Plamann Park’s natural environments and woodland trails and to act as a bridge between the park’s management and the park’s frequent users. The Friends of Plamann Park believe that the many patrons of the park should try to “give back” to the park through volunteering, and community outreach in

order to keep Plamann Park in the best condition possible for the enjoyment of its users for years to come. Goals and Objectives
FPP will work co-operatively with Outagamie County and other community organizations to foster continued use of the park as intended at its founding in 1958. Our goals include:

Enhance the natural beauty of the park by fostering the replacement and growth of native species

Preserve Plamann Park as a natural woodland area as the suburban community grows around the park

Promote Plamann Park as a vital community asset

Have a voice in limiting development and activities that may negatively impact Plamann Park’s natural environment

Limit the spread of invasive plants and minimize damage caused by the over population of wildlife

Provide assistance with severe storm damage to the park

Engage in fund raising activities to support our objectives and activities approved by our governing board and the OC Parks director

Promote individual responsibility throughout the park

Please mark your calendar for Outagamie County’s CORP Open House.

Outagamie County is updating its Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan — a five-year plan that will guide how the County invests in and improves its parks, trails, and recreation programs.

We invite you to join us for a Public Open House to share your ideas for the future of your park system:

· Date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025

· Time: Drop-in anytime between 5 – 7 PM

· Location: Appleton Public Library (200 N Appleton St) – Mary Nienhaus Community Meeting Room

This will be an informal, drop-in-style event —an opportunity to stop by, explore interactive input stations, chat with the project team, and share your thoughts on what’s working well and where we can improve.

Your input helps us ensure that Outagamie County’s parks, trails, and recreation programs continue to provide meaningful experiences for all residents and visitors.

All are welcome!

Plamann Park has some of great changes and upgrades happening this year! One of those is water and sewer hook up for the majority of the park. This means some winter activities will have to be put on hold until next winter.
We will not be opening the Sledding Hills at Plamann Park this year due to the dangers of construction staging areas and equipment as well as plowed roadways.
