Thrilled to share a proud milestone for AviSense!
This week, we officially received our ESA BIC Greece Graduation Certificate, marking the successful conclusion of an exciting chapter in our journey of innovation and growth.

We’re grateful for the support, mentorship, and resources provided by ESA BIC Greece, which have played a key role in accelerating our work in intelligent, trustworthy autonomous mobility solutions.

It was also a pleasure to participate in the ESA BIC Greece Networking Event, where we had the chance to connect with visionary startups, industry experts, and partners who are shaping the future of space-related technologies. The energy, ideas, and collaboration opportunities were truly inspiring.

A big thank you to everyone who visited the AviSense Demo Area at Smart City Expo World Congress 2025!

This year, we showcased a live demonstration of XRay Mobility, our AR-powered cooperative perception technology designed to reveal blind spots, enhance situational awareness, and make urban mobility safer for everyone.

Using only a static camera, a lightweight server, and our custom XR rendering engine, we demonstrated how real-time pedestrian detection and spatial understanding can be shared instantly with operators, vehicles, and XR devices.

Part of this demonstration integrated outcomes developed within the AutoTRUST project, where we are advancing trustworthy, explainable, multimodal perception and cooperative intelligence for future mobility systems.

We are grateful for the support of EIT Urban Mobility, which enabled us to present, connect, and scale our work within Europe’s leading smart city ecosystem.

A big thank you to Pleiades for giving us the opportunity to engage with municipalities and explore the use of CityLabs in cities across Greece, enabling us to validate our solutions with real users and real-world data.

Lastly, a huge thank you to all partners, collaborators, and the many people who stopped by, tested our system, and engaged in inspiring discussions about the future of safe and connected mobility.

This week, our team from AviSense.ai had the opportunity to travel to Madrid for field trials at the 5TONIC testbed, as part of the 6G-XR project!
Within the context of the project SafeDriveXR – “Robotic Autonomous Agents with Cognitive Enhancements over 6G”, we successfully tested and validated key components of our 5/6G-enabled system that combines Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) and Extended Reality (XR) interfaces for Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs). Our goal is to enhance road safety by enabling real-time XR visualizations of traffic, road conditions, and potential hazards, improving driver awareness, decision-making, and response times. The trials in 5TONIC (South Node of the 6G-XR Facilities) mark a major step forward in demonstrating low-latency communication, edge-cloud coordination, and adaptive XR interfaces tailored to user context.

We’re proud to contribute to Europe’s vision for Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) and grateful to our partners and the 6G-XR community for their collaboration and support!

🚘 Smart Mobility – Autonomous Vehicles and the Transition to EVs ⚡
We had the pleasure of presenting our latest research at the 11th IEEE International Smart Cities Conference (ISC2 2025), themed “Resilient & Sustainable Smart Communities”, held in Patras, Greece.
📄 Our paper,
“A Holistic Perception System of Internal and External Monitoring for Ground Autonomous Vehicles: The AutoTRUST Paradigm,”
was featured in the session Smart Mobility – Autonomous Vehicles and the Transition to EVs, showcasing an AI-driven holistic perception framework for autonomous vehicles that integrates:
🔹 External monitoring – LiDAR-based super-resolution and semantic segmentation for accurate scene understanding.
🔹 Internal monitoring – multi-camera driver and occupant behavior analysis, emotion recognition, and air-quality & thermal comfort sensing.
🔹 Virtual assistant – an embedded Llama-3-powered module enabling context-aware, real-time in-vehicle interaction.
The complete system was deployed and validated on the platforms of AviSense.AI and ALKE Vehicles, demonstrating real-time performance, energy efficiency, and explainable operation across both internal and external perception layers.

🚀 Exciting News!

Thrilled to share that our paper, “Integrated Simulation Framework for Adversarial Attacks on Autonomous Vehicles,” was presented at the IEEE International Smart Cities Conference (ISC² 2025) — isc2-2025.org.

Our work introduces a comprehensive simulation platform to analyze adversarial threats in autonomous driving, contributing to safer and more trustworthy AI systems.

This research was supported by the Horizon Europe GuardAI project. Grateful to our fantastic team for the collaboration and dedication!
