Take Us Back Tuesday!

Visionary Contact Lens team member John was a proud ambassador at this year’s 2025 GPLI Cornea and Contact Lens Residents Symposium. Hosted by The Ohio State University at the OSU Havener Eye Institute. Led by the new GPLI leader, Dr. Jenn Harthan, the educational event offered workshops and discussions for both Cornea and Contact Lens Residents (CCLR) and rising stars in the Specialty Contact Lens (SCL) field.

The GPLI is a non-profit organization of affiliates who are dedicated to advancing industry knowledge and ultimately providing the best outcomes for patients. We truly valued the experience with our industry partners and peers to support the event and look forward to future hosted events.

We had the pleasure of being a first-time sponsor of the AOCLE (Association of Optometric Contact Lens Educators) meeting held at the SCCO’s (Southern California College of Optometry) Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, CA on June 5th - 7th.

The meeting, themed “Collaborations in Cornea and Contact Lenses,” brought together passionate educators from across the entire country.

A huge round of applause goes to the hosting coordinators at SCCO as well as a special recognition to the AOCLE Chair, Dawn Lam, for her leadership.

Attendees engaged in highly relevant and pertinent workshops, gaining valuable insights and fostering collaboration.

We were particularly inspired by the insightful presentations from:
Olivia Lee, MD, who spoke on “My Collaborations in Eye Care”
Matthew Wade, MD, who discussed “Management of Iris Defects and Aphakia”
Gloria Chiu, OD, who presented “Better Together: ODs and MDs Punting with Purpose”

The spirit of collaboration and shared dedication to advancing contact lens education truly made this AOCLE meeting a massive success. We’re already looking forward to next year!
