As many of you know the Dekalb county VFW has a Memorial Day service every year honoring those who have served and are no long with us. Those that have lived in the county each have a cross with their name and a flag. Every year the community volunteers it’s time to set out and pick up the 1100+ crosses, with more added each year.

Over the years the spikes that hold the crosses in the ground either break or come loose. So I was tasked with making a new way for the crosses to be held in place, and be more stable.

Everything was donated by local businesses supporting our community, but do to some hiccups with the powder coating company we were not able to have them installed and able to use for this year’s ceremony, but I’d still like to think the local business’s that donated to have the bases powder coated:
