We’re gearing up for two big days at Tesmec USA. 🪨

Final preparations are underway for our Rock Hawg Demo & Open House — October 28–29.

⛏️ October 28: We’ll be putting a Rock Hawg to work in a real quarry environment, giving attendees an up-close look at mechanical rock excavation in action.

🏭 October 29: We’ll head back to Tesmec USA in Alvarado for our Open House, featuring more of our equipment, technology, and the people behind it.

We’re excited to welcome customers and industry professionals from across the country to Texas for two days of machines, applications, and real-world production.

The machines are getting ready. The quarry is waiting. Almost time to make some rock disappear.

When the material changes, the machine should be able to take advantage of it.

The Tesmec 1150 EVO Dynamic Drive Rock Hawg is designed with higher cutting drum speeds that make it especially effective in softer materials such as gypsum and similar formations.

That higher drum speed allows the Rock Hawg to efficiently excavate and size material in a continuous process — turning solid ground into manageable material while eliminating the need for drilling and blasting in suitable applications.

Case Study | Data Center Excavation in North Central Texas

Grind Time Rock Milling took on a utility excavation in limestone with some sandstone. The scope covered an area approximately 800 feet by 200 feet, excavated to a depth of 11 feet.

Using the 1150 EVO Rock Hawg and 1475XL Rock Hawg, Grind Time reported completing its scope in 15 working days against an approximately 84-day schedule. The team recorded zero lost-time incidents and finished this portion of the project more than two months ahead of schedule.

It’s a strong example of what Rock Hawg surface miners can contribute to demanding rock excavation projects—and of the crew it takes to deliver those results.

Tesmec USA will put its Rock Hawg technology in front of prospective buyers next month, with a live quarry demonstration scheduled near the company’s Alvarado, Texas facility.

The demonstration will take place October 28, followed by an open house at the Alvarado plant on October 29.

The event is aimed specifically at quarry, mining and construction companies actively evaluating new excavation equipment. Tesmec plans to demonstrate the Rock Hawg in real working conditions, giving potential customers the opportunity to see the machine operate before making a purchasing decision.

To make attendance easier for qualified companies, Tesmec is offering to cover hotel accommodations and transportation between the hotel, demonstration site and plant.

The invitation is not intended as a general public event. Registration will be reviewed by Tesmec to ensure attendees represent companies with a genuine interest in purchasing or deploying the equipment.

The two-day program will also give visitors an opportunity to meet the Tesmec team, inspect equipment more closely and discuss applications, production requirements and potential machine configurations.

For companies considering alternative excavation methods, the Alvarado event offers something brochures and videos can't fully provide: the chance to watch the Rock Hawg work in person.
